Some students coming to secondary schools bring a wealth of language learning experience while others are beginning their study of languages. Many will have learnt an additional language in primary school, some have proficiency in different home languages and bring existing language learning strategies and intercultural awareness to the new experience of learning at high school.

What is expected of students at the beginning of Year 7? What about the end of Year 7?

Teachers of all languages are invited to share strategies, resources, and experiences in relation to Year 7s studying secondary languages. This is set against the backdrop of the Years 7-8 Achievement Standards for Languages in the Australian Curriculum.
