News and background information of the release of the P-10 Languages syllabuses was published in the SCSA Kto10 Circular on 18 July, 2016 and it is recommended that all Languages teacher subscribe to this circular to remain informed of future developments in curriculum.
The Kto10 Circular states that “The new syllabuses are available to schools 18 months ahead of 2018, when full implementation of the syllabuses is expected, commencing with Year 3 in 2018 and progressively implemented with Year 8 in 2023, giving teachers extra time to familiarise themselves with the content. Schools that have a Languages program from Pre-primary should continue with this program using the syllabuses from the Outline” and that “The Judging Standards resources, the Achievement Standards and assessment activities will be available in the Outline at the beginning of 2018.”
