The School Curriculum and Standards Authority will be running two workshops this month for the Background Language courses commencing in 2015.
Information will go out to schools via the next 11to12 Circular, however teachers from schools intending to deliver the Background Language courses are now able to register via the SCSA website.
Places are limited to 15 per session.
French, German and Italian Background Language Course: Wednesday, 26 November 2014
Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese Background Language Courses: Thursday, 27 November 2014
Both workshops will be held at the Authority 12.40-3.15pm at 303 Sevenoaks Street Cannington.
The workshops will provide an overview of Background Language courses, teacher support materials and sample examinations, and participants will have the opportunity to develop assessment tasks to support the delivery of the Year 11 syllabuses in 2015.
Interested teachers are asked to bring their own copies of the Year 11 Background Language syllabuses. These are available at http://wace1516.scsa.wa.edu.au/ . Copies of teacher support materials will be provided.
A half day teacher relief payment is available.
