A message from the MLTAWA President

The MLTAWA Committee has been busy working towards planning what is shaping up to be a very exciting State Conference.
|
Early Bird registrations will be opening very soon so we encourage all our members to keep an eye out for early registrations. Presenters will be able to access a 15% discount so if you haven’t submitted your abstract yet, please make sure to do so. The deadline has been extended till May 13th.
|

Membership Renewal

Thank you to all MLTAWA members who have once again renewed their Membership with MLTAWA. If you have not yet renewed your membership you are in the Grace period until 31 May after which your membership will expire. Please CLICK HERE to renew.

The Modern Language Teachers’ Association of Western Australia Inc (MLTAWA) will be holding our State Conference on July 29-30, 2022 at the Joondalup Resort in Perth, Western Australia.
|
The conference theme Shifting Paradigms in Languages Education is an open invitation for educators to explore current issues related to matters of equity, plurilingualism and shifting monolingual practices in Education through effective and innovative languages programs.
|
The conference will have a focus on the development, implementation and delivery of impactful programs to enhance students’ overall standards of education, critical thinking skills, intercultural perspectives and their ability to function effectively as global citizens in the modern world from a sustainable, dynamic and efficient perspective.

MLTAWA Principal's Award 2022
|
|
Nominations for the MLTAWA Principal's Award 2022 for commitment and support to the Languages Program in their school are now open.
|
The Modern Languages Teachers’ Association (MLTAWA) Inc. values the important role that principals play in advocating for Languages. This award acknowledges school leaders who have shown long-term commitment to their Languages program and promoted Languages within the wider school community.
|
Languages teachers and other members of the community are encouraged to nominate a school principal who would be a worthy recipient of the award. The award consists of a certificate, a trophy and $400 to contribute towards the school’s Languages program.
|
- Previous nominees are eligible for renomination
- The nomination must address all selection criteria
- The nomination must be made by two nominating people, one of whom must be a current financial member of MLTAWA. Their current membership will allow access to the members section of the MLTAWA website where they can access the online nomination form.

Nominations close 10 June 2022. The Principal's Award will be presented at the High Tea during the MLTAWA Conference 2022 at the Joondalup Resort.
