Governance workshop for secretaries

The OMI Community Engagement and Funding team facilitated a workshop for elected members of WA’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) community associations on Saturday 23 May 2026.

The workshop for secretaries was the second in a series of community capacity building workshops which began in December 2025. The workshops have been developed to support and train presidents, vice presidents, treasurers and secretaries to continue to lead their community associations effectively.

Thirty community members attended the workshop and gained important skills in governance and reporting, record keeping, and management of an incorporated association. Participants also learned about their legal, financial and ethical obligations under the Incorporated Associations Act 2015.
