Update on proposed timelines for the implementation of new Years 11 and 12 syllabuses for Languages ATAR courses

Following communication to Juanita Healy, Executive Director, School Curriculum and Standards, earlier this year regarding the proposed timing of Years 11–12 Languages curriculum revisions, I would like to share that the 7 to 12 Circular – Edition 7 (July 2026) includes information relating to the implementation of the new Years 11 and 12 syllabuses for both Second Language ATAR and Background Language ATAR courses.

The circular outlines key information to support schools and teachers in preparing for the implementation of these revised syllabuses and should be of interest to Languages Teachers WA members.
